2022 Lions Legacy of Sight Award

We are honored to announce the fourth annual Lions Legacy of Sight Award recipients, Jerry and Trudy Wille. Trudy sadly passed away in May of 2021, after a hard-fought battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Both Trudy and Jerry have been active volunteers at LEBW throughout the years, transporting corneal tissue and volunteering at various LEBW events raising awareness about eye donation and the donor registry.

Members of the Oconomowoc Lions Club, Trudy and Jerry, were active members in their communities, volunteering their time supporting Lions initiatives. Jerry is a Past District Governor for Wisconsin Lions district A2, LEBW Past Board Chair and Treasurer, and he played an integral part in bringing into fruition the new LEBW building we currently occupy. Trudy loved being a Lion and supporting Jerry through all of his Lions endeavors. She had such a welcoming spirit, always wearing a smile, and she knew how to make people feel special and loved. She was truly an amazing and generous person. LEBW is forever grateful to Trudy and Jerry for their impact on our community and the beautiful legacy Trudy leaves behind. ~The mind forgets, but never the heart.

The Lions Legacy of Sight Award is presented annually to honor those outside the professional donation and transplantation community who has significantly impacted the public about donation and promoted donor registration on a state or national level.
