Meeting a Critical Need
There is a critical need for vital organs, eyes, and tissues in the United States. To serve those needs, Organ Procurement Organizations (OPO’s), tissue banks, and eye banks, with support and collaboration from hospital staff, funeral directors, and medical examiners and coroners, facilitate thousands of organ and corneal transplants and 1.5 million tissue grafts/transplants annually. Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin is proud to partner with local OPO’s and Tissue Banks to fulfill donor and family wishes and provide the visually impaired with the precious gift of sight.
