Matthew Brackman

My name is Susan and my son’s name is Matthew. He was my baby boy. He passed away when he was 24 from a heart attack. He went into the Army out of high school and served for 4 years. He was stationed in Germany for 2 of those years. It was so hard to have him so far from home. Once he was released from the Army he moved back home where he got a job in the meat department at a local grocery store. He loved making different kinds of sausages. He would bring some over and cookout for my late husband and me. He loved his job and interacting with people. I think he would have become a butcher.

He loved his family very much. He has a brother and 3 sisters. He had no children of his own, but he has 5 nieces and 4 nephews. He loved to spoil them and loved them with all of his heart. He left behind many people that loved him. When my husband passed, he was right there to give me his shoulder to cry on and to help me with the many things that needed to be done around the house. He loved to take short vacations with me. Our last vacation was to a hotel with a waterpark inside. We had a great time. He was also my movie date. The last movie that we saw together was Jumanji 2. That was 5 days before he passed.

Although my son could not donate to a particular person, he has helped with the education of the eye. I am so proud that he took the initiative to sign himself up as a donor.

God bless
